With the aim of establishing a link of inter-institutional cooperation for the development and strengthening of substantive processes of higher education, the Catholic University of Cuenca and the renewed Instituto Superior Tecnológico del Azuay, signed this Tuesday, November 7, 2017, a Framework Agreement.
Enrique Pozo, Rector of the Catholic University of Cuenca, congratulated the managers of this agreement for the effort to make the Southern region, a zone of progress. «Joining the youth through science and technology, is to join the change of the productive matrix; it is to make intermediate careers full of innovation, progress and welfare, open spaces for work. We, as the Catholic University of Cuenca, assume this change with the sum of wills, which will surely make this path lighter,» said Enrique Pozo.

The donated wood corresponds to the following species: higuerón, doncel, chalviande, matapalo, llorasangre, cutanga and tamburo. The products will be delivered to the beekeepers of Azuay who are registered with the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.
Priscila Carpio, provincial director of the Environment of Azuay, expressed that for the Ministry it is satisfactory to be able to contribute to the development of projects that the Institute has, in this specific case for the promotion of bio-enterprises. «As National Government and Environmental Authority we work to ensure conservation, sustainable management of natural resources and reducing the impact of deforestation,» she said.
